I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to cut the cable and still have a personal video recorder. The software is horrible. Good device but not ideal or that easy to use.
It does get other channels, which is ok and they come in pretty clear; however, I did have to move the antena to get a good signal. IR Remote control version With Linux it is much more difficult as there is no Linux software provided and I had to do a lot of customization to get it working under Linux Using a combination of software but eventually I got it working under Linux as well.
